Fantastic hostel run by a lovely man with an unsurpassed knowledge of the local area and beyond. Literally only feet from the Atlantic ocean, the Hostel's location couldn't be any better. If you plan to visit the North Coast then Rick's is a magnificent place to base yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Ricks place was amazing, very comfortable and it was like being at home and away. Highly recommend to all who are visiting portstewart
Great place and location. The only downside is that the Wifi only works in the dining area. I'd also like it if there was a TV in the room.
Rick is really friendly and the hostel has a relaxed atmosphere. I really liked that, as an early riser, I could access the kitchen at any time, clean up after myself and be out for the day from 7am (Not possible in some of the more formal neighbouring hostels that lock the kitchen at night).
Stopped there for quite a while , loved meeting the different guests during my stay,if all you want is somewhere to eat ,wash and sleep ,it's perfect . Comfy lounge , coal fire plenty of local reference books. Owner is nteresting guy . It's a hostel , you are responsible for cleaning kitchen, washing up, tending to fire, etc. whatever. Price is right, believe me. Go out of back yard and you are on cliff top; few yards out front and on sea wall.Lovely place to stay.
